Wanna be in a movie?

If youre part of my generation, I bet you, like me*, are just livid that PZ gets to be a big time movie-star instead of you.

OUR TIME HAS COME!

Ben Stein wants our stories for 'EXPELLED!'! He wants to hear about those times you stood up against people with a lot more money and social and political power than you and fearlessly proclaimed "This is wrong!" Those times you, some random student, took on an entire institution by speaking for science! Those times you were the one person in the room who had the balls to call a spade a spade. I think basically every commenter on my blog has a story to tell about their interactions with Creationists, and now you all could seriously be in a movie!

Oh... Wait.

He doesnt want *our* stories. You know, those of us that have been attacked personally and professionally by Professional Creationists and their hired help. He wants video of some Trinity Spawn saying "AND I TOLD MY PROFESSOR I BELIEVED IN JESUS, NOT EVILUTION, AND SHE FLUNKED ME BUT JESUS IS LORD!!"

*rolleyes*

Im might try to submit a video anyway.

Let's hear it from the thousands of teenagers who were insulted and humiliated by their pastor/youth pastor because they believed in evilution and had a liberal interpretation of the dogmas.

I should send mine in. I live in Alabama, and I was never taught evolution in high school. I did, however, have my biology teacher warn me about professors in college luring me from my faith. (I'm serious). Ben Stein may also be interested in what creationist curriculum taught me when I homeschooled:

I honestly haven't had any remotely persecutory experiences that didn't involve churches and/or God's supposed will. And ... none of them actually involved evolution in any way, I've only become (amusedly) aware that people even try to deny its existence in the past couple of years, since Dover.

... seriously though, pot, kettle? Christian churches are trying to assert they're being persecuted.

also: Alan Sokal would be very proud of what's destined to happen to this endeavor. ;)

I grew up in the western mountains of Virginia. You'd think I'd have a great story about being persecuted for my total lack of religion. The really weird part is that I don't.

But I think you're looking at this movie wrong. Think of this as a new version of Rate Your Students.

This is intellectual porn, since the movie makers invite people to show their bare opinions on stage. Inviting possible underage persons to participate is an atrocity IMO. Perhaps it is time to instate some form of eXpelled-rating. :-\

So that's why!

Have you seen the full-trailer for "Expelled" as exhibited at the Family Research Council's conference? Why can't they make up their mind wether it's about the God or not???

I mention it here
